Apt Studio

The studio on Adelaide Street was acquired in 2004 and originally housed the workshops for textile  weaving and art and card production.  Over the years this has evolved and now also includes space for residents to work with graphics, glass and ceramics.

The graphics workshop allows residents to use traditional techniques to produce etchings and linocuts.    Our popular handmade and printed greetings cards are also created within the studio.

The weavery has a number of looms which are used to produce different woven articles including tapestries, cushion covers, rugs and table runners.

The workshop products are sold in both the Apt Gallery/Café and Apt Boutique alongside goods from other Camphill centres. A wide range of beautiful items from all over the world, including seasonal gifts and decorations can be found in our shops.

Glass and Ceramics

I love the work I do. I do a lot of practical work such as glass making and bead work. It’s harder than it looks. It’s a challenge but I enjoy it. I’m also making mirrors with glass shapes around them and that’s fun to do. I work with different people at different times of day."
